My research interest spreads across various related areas.
Currently, my research is focused on Digital Contents Analysis, (including semantic analysis) and their related Machine Learning techniques. This includes (but not limited to):
Computer Vision and Semantic Video/Image Analysis:
- Video/Image Analysis (+Semantic) for annotation, categorisation, and Content-based multi-media search, indexing, and retrieval.
- Scene Understanding, and their applications in various areas
- Video shot and scene detection for Abstraction/Skimming.
Data mining
- Stylistic Analysis and mining of textual contents (blogs,..e.tc.)
- Corpus analysis.
Previous research (which is still of interest) include:
- 3D Graphics, Animation.
- Virtual and Augmented Reality.
- Handwriting recognition. (especially in Arabic).
